Job Description and Requirements

HAV Executive Director
We are looking for an experienced hardware R&D Manager to manage teams from multiple countries, motivating and enabling them to develop, integrate and produce high quality products. These products will use the latest FPGAs available to create solutions spanning desktop/lab to data-centre solutions.
They will work with other group directors across the division and other divisions to create alignment, ensuring on time delivery and continued high quality products. You will provide strategic guidance to teams, engineering managers and project managers in ways that promote the company's culture and best working practices.
The Systems Design Group (SDG) consists of multiple development teams with a wide range of technical disciplines including application software, embedded software, FPGA firmware, circuit board and mechanical design.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader with experience in managing staff across a wide range of disciplines and geographical locations to produce results on time, in budget and of high quality. Being technically knowledgeable with the ability to develop visions, strategies and tactics will be key to this role.
Responsibilities include:

  • Take a product from concept to NPI, with close collaboration between R&D and Operations.
  • System level and board level development knowledge.
  • Understand and drive, risk, budget, and resource requirements across concurrent projects.
  • Drive methodologies to improve the development activity.
  • Drive Quality and Compliance into the products.
  • Lead and evaluate R&D managers and other staff.
  • Define suitable strategies and objectives for R&D managers.
Requirements and skills:
  • Proven experience as a hardware R&D manager.
  • Strong understanding of hardware and firmware engineering delivery.
  • Experience of managing large FPGA board and system level design.
  • Understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
  • Outstanding leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $210,000-$314,000 In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
