Work Schedule
40-hour per-week schedule. Exempt, salaried position. Partial hybrid work options may be considered with a majority of the week on campus.
Basic Function
Make Denison's social media channels compelling to our current and prospective audiences. Monitor and manage university-level social media accounts, responding to and engaging with the college's constituents. Plan and produce social media content. Identify and manage key performance indicators.
Essential Job Functions
  1. Strategy and content planning
    • Craft, execute, and evolve a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the college's goals and values.
    • Identify key messages and create content highlighting Denison's academic strengths, culture, and community.
    • Create and manage the college's social media content calendar.
  2. Community engagement and channel management:
    • Foster a sense of community by actively engaging with followers and promptly responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
    • Monitor and participate in relevant conversations and trends within the social media landscape.
    • Periodically monitor social media accounts over evenings and weekends to watch for emerging situations and advise stakeholders on appropriate responses.
    • Serve as a member of the college's emergency communications team.
    • Manage and maintain official social media accounts on platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and others.
    • Stay updated on platform trends and best practices to optimize engagement.
  3. Content development and curation:
    • Generate compelling and creative content, including text, images, and multimedia, to elevate the college's brand and build awareness of stories and achievements.
    • Curate user-generated content that reflects the diverse experiences of our students, faculty, and alumni.
  4. Analytics:
    • Develop key performance indicators to measure success across our social channels.
    • Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of social media efforts.
    • Provide regular reports on KPIs and recommend adjustments for continuous improvement.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Multimedia, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Relevant experience can be substituted for education. 3+ years experience.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years experience.
Physical Demands
Must be able to move around the campus, including walking, climbing stairs, and navigating hills. and move up to 20 lbs using appropriate equipment or assistance as needed.
