Position: Commercial Loan Post Review Specialist II | Division: Loan Support |

Work Days: Monday - Friday | Hours of Operation:

8:00am - 5:00pm

Purpose of the Position:

Responsible for the post-closing review of all commercial, commercial real estate, mortgage, and construction loans to ensure that proper policy, procedural, and compliance requirements have been adhered to and to ensure that the core loan system has been entered correctly and in accordance with approved terms and procedural requirements. The position also serves as the back-up for all functions of the Consumer Loan Post Review position.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review all closed and funded commercial, commercial real estate, residential mortgage, and construction loan packages for completeness and accuracy of approval, documentation and system set up and to confirm adherence to regulatory requirements and bank policies and procedures.
  • Compare the loan approval package to the loan documents and core system to ensure that loan documents and servicing system are accurate.
  • Initiate corrective action on errors noted in the documentation and/or system.
  • Communicate significant or frequent errors and discrepancies to the originating personnel and their manager.
  • Record or clear exception items on the tracking/tickler system as needed.
  • Assemble and organize the loan file by sorting any paper documents with the bar-coded dividers to prepare the file for imaging.
  • Process collateral documents necessary for the proper recording of the Bank's lien as required.
  • Input required information on the Farets system for tax monitoring on real estate secured loans.
  • Serve as the primary backup for the consumer loan post review specialist.
  • Recommend changes to management for process improvements and procedural changes based on file review findings and trends.
  • Assists with the development of department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and achieve optimal efficiency.
  • Offer suggestions for continual process improvement of the workflow from loan processing, documentation, and booking on commercial, construction, and real estate loans.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory, legal, policy and procedural changes to ensure a strong understanding of all aspect of loan product requirements.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Knowledge of commercial, commercial real estate, residential mortgage, and construction loan documentation.
  • Overall knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for residential mortgage loans.
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new systems.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 4 to 6 years of related and progressive banking or financial services experience that includes experience with loan documentation preferably commercial, commercial real estate, and residential mortgage documentation.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Continuing education courses on loan documentation

Other Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of core loan servicing systems (preferable Fiserv Signature)
