Position: Consumer and Private Bank Product Manager | Division: Consumer Banking Management

Work Days: Monday - Friday | Work Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Purpose of the Position:

The VP, Consumer/Private Bank Product Manager serves as a consumer/private banking product line manager for specialty and ancillary products and services. He/she will directly contribute to and drive the design and deployment of new or enhanced retail/private bank products, product deployment, digital delivery and acquisition of Private and Consumer products, and third-party programs that increase customer adoption and retention, thus improving the Bank's profitability. The VP has a deep understanding and will manage each product/program and how it affects key metrics (such as revenue, ROA, ROI) as well as the customer experience. The VP, Consumer/Private Bank Product Manager maintains an understanding of the retail/private banking market and local competitors to ensure Broadway's consumer/private banking and digital products remain attractive, competitive and profitable. He/she will help develop programs growing net new customers and multi product (deepening) customers in the Private Banking and Consumer line of business. The VP, Consumer/Private Bank Product Manager must also be able to toggle line of business initiatives against competing features and priorities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for retail and private banking products and along with the line of business leaders, has responsibility for the achievement of profit/loss, growth, utilization, and retention goals and all compliance requirements.
  • Develop programs to grow net new customers and multi-product (deepening) customers in the Private Banking and Consumer line of business.
  • Leads and coaches a team of future product/digital specialists who are dedicated to the growth and enhanced customer experience of the consumer, private and mortgage lines of business.
  • Serves as the digital product owner for various Private and Consumer products including credit card.
  • Manages outside third-party relationships to improve share of wallet, competitiveness and adoption of retail and private bank products including debit card and rewards program(s).
  • Aligns with other lines of business to deliver communications bank-wide regarding customer-facing projects and initiatives.
  • Along with Business Banking team, manages consumer and private banking credit card vendor relationship including data analysis, promotions, ERM and introduction of new products or current product enhancements. Works with Marcom and Sales and Service to execute promotions and employee engagement across the Enterprise.
  • Provides strategic product direction to digital lending and account origination vendor(s). Works with multiple stakeholders to gain approvals, feedback and deployment roadmap from consumer banking prospective. Collaborates with Reporting Specialist and AVP, Channel Product Manager on change control procedures for vendor.
  • Provide direction to AVP Channel Manager for building product requirements for new and existing digital products/services in bank channels. Assists in road mapping and workflows.
  • Manages check printing vendor relationship and add-on programs that enhance and communicate bank value. Will manage the full life cycle of the vendor relationship.
  • Develops retail/private bank deposit and loan products and strategies that support the bank's strategic plans and objectives that align across all lines of business.
  • Attends and contributes to several internal committees including: Pricing Review, Consumer Credit, Sales and Service Communications, Responsible Innovation, Product Council and other ad hoc committees. Serves on Digital Steering, Design and Strategy committees representing Private and Consumer.
  • Assists SVP Retail Product and Digital Experience defining and delivering profitable products for digital acquisition and digital self-service growth. Helps define digital strategy for Private and Consumer products.
  • Directs the development and enhancements and revisions of retail and private bank deposit and loan products.
  • Works with the Sales and Service network and the eBanking team throughout new product development, testing, and implementation/deployment phases to ensure feature integrity and customer acceptance.
  • Coordinates budget, planning, and sales reporting/tracking of retail and private bank initiatives.
  • Partners with Marketing Communication, eBanking and other product teams to plan for product release communications & adoption campaigns.
  • Leads and manages special projects as requested.


Competencies and Skills:

  • Understanding the consumer retail and private banking environment.
  • Knowledge of direct-to-consumer financial services.
  • Knowledge and use of Agile Methodology in product development.
  • Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in marketing, product management or product development.
  • Retail banking and private bank experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Scrum/agile methodology.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, strategic thinking and execution skills.
  • Demonstrated success in helping grow a consumer retail and private bank business.
  • Knowledge of financial services and products.
  • Knowledge of platform delivery systems.
  • Knowledge of relationship management software.
  • Knowledge of applicable deposit related regulations and compliance requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business administration or related field required.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience interfacing with outside vendors and cross-functional teams.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience with Fiserv systems preferred.
  • Experience with EnAct and CRM preferred.
  • Experience with Bank Analyst preferred.
  • PMP/Agile certifications preferred.
