ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assure that all parts and materials are maintained and processed in accordance with the approved General Maintenance Manual, (this includes incoming inspections to determine part/material certification, identification and compliance with applicable airworthiness requirement).
  • Continually interfaces with the Director of Quality Control to verify that receiving inspectors are properly trained and training is periodically updated. The Director further interfaces with Quality Control as to the proper disposition of "condemned parts."
  • Director is authorized to be a voting member of the ETOPS Review Board and has ETOPS duties as defined in the ETOPS Policies and Procedures Manual (EPPM).
  • Director is authorized to employ and terminate all purchasing and warehousing personnel.
  • Director is responsible for the control and purchasing of the following: spare parts, the repair and overhaul of rotables, and all other items that are necessary for the day to day operation of the airline.
  • The Director is further responsible for the management of all warehousing operations and inventory control, whether located at the company headquarters at Tulsa, Oklahoma or located at various out-stations.
  • The Director oversees shipping and receiving operations efficiently moving parts to locations necessary for repair and overhaul and to support flight operations.
  • The Director is also responsible for the formulation and implementation of systems to provide for effective communication among the Materiel Services Department, Maintenance Department and Maintenance Control to provide for continually updated information for all parties regarding the procurement of parts, movement of parts as well as the need for parts acquisition.
  • The Director of Materiel Services duties may be delegated to any knowledgeable OAI personnel familiar with OAI policies and procedures. Responsibilities and authorities may only be delegated to other management personnel. Delegation may be executed through email or in the written form.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Management experience in material purchasing, rotable repairs, inventory control, shipping and warehousing of aircraft parts.
  • Ability to keep all inter-departmental personnel together as a team.
  • Ability to work productively with other departments such as Maintenance, Quality Control, Engineering, Operations, etc.
  • Must have a valid passport and be able to travel as needed.
  • Test negative on an FAA mandated pre-employment drug test, and on subsequent tests under the Omni drug and alcohol testing policy applicable to employees occupying safety sensitive positions
  • Must pass a 10-year Background check including a FAA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in airline materiel management.
  • Finance degree or experience in cost/asset management is preferred.

  • Sedentary - 80%
  • Walking & Standing - 20%

  • Ability to handle numerous activities at once and complete in a timely manner
  • Work with limited supervision and possess an impeccable attention to detail, excellent customer service and organizational skills required

  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions or other information
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team and provide leadership
  • Ability to make quick decisions which impact the department's credibility, and services reacting in a positive manner during unexpected and/or serious situations
  • Ability to complete routine forms, use existing form letters and/or conduct routine oral communication
  • Must have ability to apply common sense in understanding and dealing with others while maintaining diplomatic and professional conduct at all times
  • Must be aware of, and able to recognize and respond to, a variety of situations to include: emergency, medical, and security-related
  • Ability to formulate complex and comprehensive materials such as detailed reports, work-related manuals, publications of limited scope or impact, etc.
