Job Description
  • Serves as the liaison between faculty and students, the first line of communication for new/future students, and the "go to" person for the graduate students in the CArEE department
  • Assists graduate students in their application, admissions, and enrollment process, offers course registration and program advising as well as student support.
  • Maintains internal database
  • Serves as the assistant to the department's Associate Chair for Graduate Studies and Advising and to the department's Assistant Chair for Distance Education Programs and Advising
  • Provides assistance, advice and information to on-campus, distance, and Ft. Wood graduate students concerning processing graduate forms, deadline requirements, program requirements, and DARs review. Coordinates group meetings of Ft. Leonard Wood students and advisors
  • Stays up to date on department and campus graduate policies and procedures
  • Coordinates data collection on graduate students performance in the department; coordinates/advises graduate students in special programs (Kummer Fellows, Ft. Leonard Wood Program, and GAANN/DoEd Fellows)
  • Maintains logistics of the department Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLO) regarding comprehensive exams and M.S. thesis/Ph.D. dissertation defenses and assists with preparing reports for Office of Graduate Studies. Assists faculty with graduate scholarship and GAANN programs and others as assigned
  • Prepares graduate student offer letters, processes new graduate student hiring paperwork and ePAFs, completes funding calculators for the Office of International Affairs, processing Graduate Fee Waiver Forms to submit to Cashier's Office. Retains graduate student files, assists with department visits for graduate students, and supervises a small number of student workers
  • Assigns advisors and releases advising
Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 - $19.34/hourly.


Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
