We are currently hiring Sonic Inspectors (Quality Inspectors) at our Monroe, North Carolina location. Sonic Inspection is an impressive quality assurance tool that is used for the examination and testing, by using ultrasonic frequencies, of materials and components that will not change or destroy the parts usefulness. Our Sonic Inspection department plays a vital role in ensuring that we are producing materials and components that meet quality, reliability and safety standards of ATI and our customers.
A successful Sonic Inspector is a problem-solver, has strong attention to detail, and embraces the opportunity to be empowered in making crucial decisions regarding the integrity of our components. As a Sonic Inspector, you'll have the ability to apply your existing skills, while learning new skills, that will enable you to progress your career into Sonic Inspection roles of increasing responsibility.
When you join ATI as a Sonic Inspector, you will receive hands on job training, as well as 40 hours of classroom training, where you will focus on:
Upon completion of training, written and practical examinations will be administered and after passing examinations you will become a Level I Sonic Inspector.
Level I
Once a Level I Sonic Inspector, you'll continue to learn and develop your skills related to operating all testing instruments and systems, as well as continued training on reading technical and mill instructions. Additional responsibilities include:
After 12 months and no more than 14 months experience since the beginning of training, written and practical examinations will be administered, which you will have to pass to become a Level II Sonic Inspector.
Level II
Once a Level II Inspector, you will be able to operate all equipment and systems, in all techniques (immersion, contact, longitudinal, shear wave, nuclear and non-nuclear). Additional responsibilities include:
