Job Description

The Websites team is dedicated to building a world-class web presence for Datadog that prioritizes the needs of our users and helps to drive company growth by enabling internal contributor teams to deliver content and services successfully.

As the Manager of the team focused on frontend, you will be joining at a critical point in our growth to help us drive the next generation of websites for Datadog. You will have a huge impact in delivering key projects to improve website development and support the growth of our team and services.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You'll Do:

  • You will be a hands-on leader of a team of engineers, helping to establish and enforce best practices
  • Plan and build out new features and sections of our corporate sites in collaboration with the Brand Design team and other stakeholders across the organization
  • You will be responsible for day-to-day delivery, coaching, and formal performance reviews for a small team (currently 4 developers)
  • Drive the roadmap and definition of a new design system to support continued growth as well as ensuring alignment and consistency across projects
  • Help the team continue to scale across projects while being obsessive about performance, automation, and maintainability

Who You Are:

  • You are an experienced leader with at least 2 years of experience as a people manager or technical leader.
  • You are enthusiastic about leading a team that plays a critical role in the success of our engineering teams, and you have a strong passion for mentorship and career development.
  • You excel in supporting the career development and growth of your team members within the organization, and you have a proven track record in hiring and building high-performing teams.
  • You possess strong technical skills and have significant hands-on web development experience on a large, public website. Your deep understanding of development enables you to effectively drive the technical direction and decision-making of the team.
  • You are fanatical about details: code style, exact rendering, performance, and good design practices
  • You have experience working with or implementing design systems and responsive designs
  • Strong proficiency in frontend technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and static site generators

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, access to Udemy courses, product training, and career pathing
