Job Summary

The Accounting Associate I is primarily responsible for providing clerical support for the Accounting Department.

Essential Functions
  • Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Enter, process, file, index and maintain Journal Entries into Penta.
  • Close jobs and re-open jobs when requested in Penta.
  • Setup new vendors in Penta. Ensure that proper information has been submitted on setup form from procurement along with a W-9 and the Related Party Disclosure, if applicable.
  • Provide second verification for banking information for vendors.
  • Provide backup support for Cash Applications, which includes processing cash receipts for all divisions and business units, consisting of wire transfers, ACH deposit, lockbox deposits and electronic checks.
  • Participate in archiving, records retention, and audit support.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.
Qualifications
  • 6+ months of general office experience; previous accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong ten-key by touch skills required.
  • Computer proficiency, including Excel, Outlook; experience with PENTA a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize work and work well under deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
  • Occasional overtime may be required in this position.
