REPORTING TO: Chief Engineer
Sal range: 60k- 90k.

SUMMARY:
The Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the operational efficiency of the engineering department. This position involves coordinating with various engineering teams, managing engineering schedules, and assisting in project and proposal development. The ideal candidate will leverage their strong administrative and organizational skills to streamline processes and enhance productivity within the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Chief Engineer in day-to-day technical tasks including research, analysis, and documentation related to aerospace engineering projects.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of engineering experiments, tests, and simulations under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering data and project progress to ensure efficient project management and reporting.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to facilitate communication and ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Engineer, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing technical reports and presentations.
  • Liaise with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and management teams to provide updates on work products, identify and resolve issues, and ensure seamless department operations.
  • Assist in developing and tracking the Engineering Schedule, including contract deliverables.
  • Support project managers by organizing initial project schedules, tracking deliverables, and handling administrative tasks.
  • Handle technical tasks for project managers and engineers, including drafting memos, reports, and correspondence, and developing PowerPoint briefings and spreadsheets
  • Assist with the creation of bid packages and procurement processes.
  • Support AS9100 compliance activities and liaise with quality departments to maintain standards.
  • Aid in the preparation and formatting of proposals, subcontractor RFPs, Statements of Work (SOWs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and other related documents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in an administrative and technical support role within a Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
  • Education: Relevant degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project, Outlook, Explorer). Ability to work independently and complete assignments to a high standard.
  • Abilities: Excellent oganizational and multitasking skills. Capable of managing non-routine and complex projects with minimal instruction. Dependable with a strong work ethic and able to adapt to changing priorities.
