Description and Requirements

Motorola is looking for a self-motivated Quality Engineer responsible for applying Motorola quality standards at a 3PL vendor. The role will include IQC (Incoming quality control) of Cellular devices from factory and packaging material from 3PL supplier. Review and validate failures from 3PL process through failure replication and/or confirmed measurement based on Motorola quality standard. Role will include reviewing IQC data and reports from Carrier to provide 8D issue resolutions from 3PL vendor and/or Factory.

Responsibilities:

* Customer Quality Management that drives overall product quality and performance that allows Motorola Mobility to achieve best in class Consumer Experiences.

* Apply Cellular Device Quality Management Standards to confirm failures on cellular devices received at 3PL supplier including Cosmetic, Testing, Triaging and Failure Replication.

* Manage Carrier Quality escalations on shipped cellular devices to determine corrective actions from 3PL vendor and/or Manufacturing Factory using 8D process in a data-based driven system.

* Assesses Customer impact from product quality issues, communicate globally, and drive supporting teams for 8D issue resolution.

* Lead/Participate in multi-team meetings on quality issues discovered on shipping products (Oversees Factories, Local Internal Team and/or Carriers).

* Based on 3PL vendor findings, assess product performance using statistical analysis and data-based decision-making. Generate potential new testing/sampling plans to determine new failure mechanisms at 3PL vendor.

* Collaborate on-site with 3PL vendor to ensure Motorola Quality Policy and Objectives are disclosed and followed to meet expectations of our Carriers.

* Evaluate initial feedback from Carrier FAI/IQC findings and provide technical documentation on issue resolution to Carrier.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree: Mechanical Engineering or related field of study

* 3+ years of experience with Mobile Devices

* Manufacturing Quality Control

* Six Sigma Training

* 8D Problem Solving

* Fluent English

* Microsoft Office Skills
