QA Automation Developer

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT The Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Developer will be responsible for designing and developing automated test scripts using industry-accepted automation applications, testing tools, and best practices. The candidate will perform analysis of manual test cases and functional requirements to determine the amount of test coverage to be automated for reuse and regression testing. The QA Automation Developer gathers information from the project team, designs, develops, unit tests, debugs, executes automated test cases and prepares automation metric reports. The candidate will document testing results and facilitates review meetings with the project team and key stakeholders. The candidate will actively looks for solutions to automate test cases early in the project life cycle and works on multiple programs/systems/applications as a project team member in coordination with the QA Manager and QA Lead.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Creates and executes automated test scripts using TFS/ VSTS frame work, including identification and tracking issues through resolution.
  • Create, execute, and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test data sets, and automated test scripts to be used in software testing for manual and automated testing.
  • Test system application enhancements related to release implementations, new products and/or product enhancements.
  • Implement integration and regression tests.
  • Performs regression testing to ensure that application errors have been corrected and that no other previously working functions have failed as a result of any code modifications and that newly added features have not created problems with previous versions of the software.
  • Coordinates with departmental representatives or analysts in development of departmental testing requirements for applications programs and coordinates completion of change management control processes related to the production and test environment.
  • Candidate will have frequent interaction with user community and training staff to stay abreast of system processes and procedures.
  • Participates in small and medium group projects under the direction of an assigned Project Manager as appropriate.
  • Coordinates with business analysts to ensure appropriate end-user testing.
  • Document software defects and report defects to software developers.
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
  • Produces testing results reports with summary findings for project stakeholders.
  • Utilize and adhere to VyStar Change Management processes, including coordination of control processes related to the test environment.
  • Work with project teams to identify, triage and isolate defects and issues in all environments and retesting.
  • Coordinate required security testing with Information Security Officer and Security Analyst.
  • Test applications according to project time lines, milestones and deadlines.
  • Create and maintain QA procedure documents; look for efficiencies and best practices to be applied to the test automation framework.

EDUCATION

  • Four-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and significant relevant experience).

    EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years combination of education, training, or experience with software testing
  • 2+ years developing automated scripts (e.g. Visual Studio (C#)/ Coded UI, Selenium, SoapUI etc.)
  • Contribute to project implementations that utilized a formal project management methodology, quality assurance program, and SDLC control environment

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of .Net framework programming languages with emphasis in C#.
  • Knowledge of web services.
  • Knowledge of testing techniques and technologies.
  • Ability to develop automation scripts in testing software (e.g. Visual Studio (C#)/ Coded UI, Selenium , SoapUI etc.).
  • Ability to create automated test cases for regression purposes on multiple platforms and can develop reports.
  • Develops and implements organized, maintainable automate testing scripts for.NET applications with either browser or win form-based user interfaces.
  • Experience with testing .NET based applications.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and MS SQL Server - should be able to write queries and stored procedures.
  • Ability to follow technical and procedural standards for system testing and implementation.
  • Ability to work in an environment using an SDLC or agile methodology.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and manage unstructured tasks within specific guidelines and time constraints.
  • Knowledge of requirements gathering process and documentation structure.
  • Ability to create and maintain testing documentation for newly created or modified custom applications.
  • Ability to gain proficiency in new technologies.
  • Demonstrates the use of standard MS Office software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio).
  • Ability to work independently on small projects.
  • Interpersonal skills including collaborative style and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software as necessary.
  • Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player.
  • Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
