Sr. Testing Specialist, HR Risk

As a Senior HR Risk Testing Specialist in Capital One's Human Resource Business Risk Office you will be responsible for working with business partners to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One, applying your risk/process management and analytical skills to drive well-managed control testing. HR Risk Specialists at Capital One are highly motivated risk and process management professionals with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. A successful risk specialist operates from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business with whom they are working, laws/regulations, processes and associated controls, and good risk management and risk mitigation practices. They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, and technologically adept.

This individual will work closely with the HR Risk Advisors, Centers & Experiences, Legal and Compliance to test our suite of HR controls.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Executes design and operating effectiveness Control testing

  • Documents controls in system of record (e.g., PRIME/FUSE)

  • Interacts with 1st line to conduct control walkthroughs, gather control execution support

  • Responsible for quality of testwork and conclusions

  • PRIME/FUSE Data Support: Provide PRIME/FUSE support as needed to HR Risk Advisors and Risk Operations team for Control design, documentation and testing

  • HR FUSE SME: Learn and understand new application (FUSE) and how it connects to PRIME; Attend PRIME Super User Meetings

  • Interact with 2nd LOD Governance & Control Programs: Partner with 2nd LOD teams control programs owners in ERM, ORM and Compliance to support control review efforts; engage HR Centers & Experiences and Vertical Risk Advisors during control reviews as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of experience with Process Management

  • At least 2 years of experience working in Agile Delivery

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in process management

  • At least 3 years experience working in an Agile Team environment

  • At least 3 years of experience with Business Process Management (BPM), Six Sigma or Lean process improvement techniques

  • At least 3 years of experience working in Risk Management

  • At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources

  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools (PRIME/FUSE at Capital One)

  • Experience in controls development, controls management, control testing and reporting activities

  • Strong problem-solving and conceptual skills
