Job Description
Summary
Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Team Leader coordinates the activities of a group of employees, ensuring compliance with all safety, production, and quality standards. In addition, the Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for operating equipment, to produce a large variety of product in accordance with customer requirements and specifications. This includes both standard and custom-made products and parts.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
This list of functions and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  1. Support implementation of continuous improvement activities
  2. Train, cross-train, develop and coach team members to maximize quality and output.
  3. Participate in development of process improvement plans and follow through with training of new processes.
  4. Assure compliance with quality standards.
  5. Instruct and monitor warehouse associates’ work practices and conformance with procedures.
  6. Ensure transactional accuracy within all warehouse functions.
  7. Maintain inventory accuracy and troubleshoot inventory movement errors
  8. Use software to perform material and shop floor related transactions.
  9. Provide quality feedback to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  10. Effectively communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding inventory status, delivery schedules, and warehouse operations.
  11. Maintain an organized work environment based on 5-S principles; Sort, Scrub, Standardize, Set in Order and Sustain.
  12. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  13. Maintain equipment and communicate potential equipment malfunctions with appropriate parties.
  14. Perform inventory & material supply functions as required.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  1. Level of education usually acquired through completion of high school.
  2. 3-5 years of related experience
  3. Trouble-shooting aptitude
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Ability to accurately scan labor, verify labor, and provide for corrections.
  2. Ability to—when applicable—operate overhead crane, aerial lift, forklift, hand trucks, etc.
  3. Ability to measure (using ruler, tapes) and count accurately.
  4. Ability to identify material sizes, lengths, dimensions, metal type, etc.
  5. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions and perform basic math; including adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally to all levels within the organization.
  7. Knowledge and skill to use computer and software to accomplish the duties of the position.
  8. Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize work and lead team to accomplish goals.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear.  The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to bend, stoop, climb ladders, balance and move about the facility.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.  The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 70 pounds on an occasional basis.
