Brown and Caldwell seeks a Senior Owner's Advisory Practitioner with an established track record of advising, positioning, marketing, and executing collaborative delivery projects and programs for civil infrastructure. Characteristics of the successful candidate include the proven ability to generate and sustain significant revenue from design-build and owner advisor projects in the national marketplace. This position will focus on collaborative delivery project sales, planning, strategy, development, procurement, and execution in public- and private-market sectors including municipal water and wastewater facilities; Oil & Gas; Chemical; Mining; Food and Beverage nationwide.

Detailed Description:

The successful candidate will develop, maintain, leverage, and expand their exceptional relationships with local and national clients. The candidate will have the ability to navigate and align client organizations with BC's team of experts and resources, manage or oversee and contribute and deliver on collaborative delivery program/project assignments, and ensure profitable collaborative delivery project/program performance with superior quality while exceeding client expectations. The candidate will provide all levels of design-build project execution, including client interactions and positioning for new work, internal coordination for proposals and interviews, project budgeting and scheduling, document (TMs, RFQ/RFP, etc.) development and management, quality assurance and control, project management, team building and collaboration, project-specific planning and strategy development, client meetings and workshop delivery and coordination. The candidate will manage and develop project deliverables and coordinate with internal and external team stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Unit Leaders and Client Managers nationwide.

Job Expectations:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact
    • Provide consultation related to the merits of various project delivery methods and support collaborative delivery through strategy, planning, selection, design, construction, and long-term Operations and Maintenance (O&M) procurement best practices as an advisor to public and private owners.
  • Understand client critical success factors
    • Leverage existing relationships to develop and maintain a deep understanding of the critical success factors (CSFs) of client organizations (including the various departments and employees within the organization).
  • Serve as clients' advocate internal to BC
    • Stay current on client collaborative delivery contracts and projects, and work with BC team members to: identify resources to support collaborative delivery projects, troubleshoot or escalate issues, and maintain exceptional client service.
  • Project Delivery/Management
    • Serve as a client manager, senior technical resource, owner advisor, or program/project manager for key clients, when necessary and appropriate.
    • Manage BC multi-disciplinary resources to deliver services and products across one or more collaborative delivery projects to assigned clients.
    • Develop, guide, review, and QC document deliverables for owner advisor services - project delivery selection methodology planning and reports, procurement plans, industry outreach, evaluation approach and criteria, requests for qualifications and proposals.
    • Evaluate contracting frameworks for clients.
    • Develop, review, execute BC's owner advisor scopes of work and budgets.
    • Ensure that BC's project delivery system (WorkSmart+) is applied and that quality reviews are performed.
    • Develop and prepare procurement documents and coordinate associated technical specifications, reports, planning, and construction submittal reviews, calculations, models, and other technical deliverables to support the owner's procurement process.
  • Operations and Leadership
    • As needed, provide input to local leadership to contribute sales data necessary to support staff utilization, revenue, and project profitability goals.
    • Coordinate with other company leaders to help achieve company goals and participate and support industry associations in the development and implementation of collaborative delivery best practices.
    • Promote BC market exposure, with a collaborative delivery emphasis, through the support of selected regional and/or national conferences and committees.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering; M.S. degree preferred
  • P.E. certification/registration in Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil in good standing preferred
  • Experience designing water and wastewater projects and preparing construction documents including drawings, P&IDs, specifications, control narratives, technical memoranda, etc. is required
  • 4 to 10 years of increasing responsibility in related experience preferred
  • Task design lead experience is required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Access, Outlook, etc.) required
  • Experience performing engineering calculations using computer software (Excel, Mathcad, etc.) is required
  • Experience writing and editing equipment and piping specifications is required
  • Experience with AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom is preferred
  • Experience with ProjectWise Explorer is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills essential
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record

Salary:

Location A: $157,000 - $214,000

Location B: $172,000 - $236,000

Location C: $188,000 - $257,000
