BASIC FUNCTION

Student ambassadors are an extension of the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement for approximately 1,600 alums and guests on campus over Reunion Weekend 2024. We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible students who share a love for Davidson and are interested in connecting with alumni of all ages. On the Davidson campus, your main role will occur over Reunion Weekend 2024, May 31 - June 2.

There will be an opportunity for some ambassadors to commence work 2-3 weeks before Reunion Weekend and 1-2 days after.

Opportunity for students who work with RLO: Once hired, one of the students hired will serve as a Housing Coordinator with a pay differential as they would be "on call" to assist alums staying in the residence halls during the weekend.

Key Logistics

-On-campus housing is available to students needing local housing while working with the Alumni and Family Engagement Office. This is coordinated once hired.

-Hours for shifts will vary during Reunion Weekend, May 31 - June 2. Shifts range from 7 am to midnight, depending on the events and staffing needs. Once hired, students will be asked to share their availability for all three days and assigned shifts accordingly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Participate in training and orientation before the weekend's events. Mandatory training begins Wednesday, May 29 at 5 p.m. on campus.

2. Greet alumni at the Welcome Center and other registration areas on campus.

3. Assist College Relations staff at a variety of indoor & outdoor events throughout the weekend.

4. Drive alumni to and from events on golf carts.

5. Assist Reunion coordinators and the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement staff with administrative tasks to prepare for the weekend events and on-campus housing operation.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

All student ambassadors must be on campus on Wednesday, May 29 at 5 p.m. to participate in training.
