PEMA is seeking a detail-oriented individual to perform emergency management duties that are essential to assist the Commonwealth in preparing for and responding to emergencies and disasters. Focus will be on operational planning for incidents impacting Pennsylvania.
An employee in this entry-level position participates in formal training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job assignments to develop proficiency in planning, organizing, equipping, and evaluating emergency service responses, plans, and operations. Work involves assisting staff in developing, evaluating, and promoting emergency operations plans; coordinating prevention, emergency and disaster response, and recovery activities; and developing and conducting training programs, mitigation activities, and grant programs related to emergency management. As training progresses, the trainee is involved in projects of greater difficulty and complexity. Work is performed under the guidance and direction of a supervisor who assigns, and reviews work and ensures attainment of the goals and objectives of the training plan.

QUALIFICATIONS
