We are looking for an experienced, ambitious, forward-thinking team lead and Payroll expert. This is not a typical payroll team lead role. Our team supports a large and diverse group of offices and operations across the US. This leader will be the reference for local team and central team in SAP payroll activities and its management. Working with the global centralized teams, the leaders' team will perform payroll advisory and be responsible to deliver US payroll activities, to ensure accuracy and compliance.

You must have excellent proven problem-solving skills and always be looking for better ways to partner with our HR teams and central team and our clients.

This is a permanent role reporting to the Service Delivery Partner US, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Excellent people leadership in region that will manage a team of 2-3 direct reports.
  • Responsible to stabilize and organize activities within the team to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage relationship with HR, central team and vendors - excellent customer service.
  • Supporting autonomously US Payroll processes and local activities end-to-end with our SAP payroll processing.
  • Be the Single point of contact for SAP payroll expertise in region while using our Global model and processes.
  • Coordinate payroll timelines and complete final sign off where required.
  • Manage escalations and liaise with stakeholders in region and implement process improvement solutions with the central US teams.
  • Review processes and ensure compliance within company policies and employment standards.
  • Report performance of your team and support annual audits.
  • Support Workday implementation for HR platform in region.
  • Deliver and oversee US fiscal year-end activities and Annual Renumeration review in region.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor in HR, in business or accounting/finance; College degree with experience.
  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge and expert in running Payroll in SAP and SAP HR.
  • Has led and manage payroll teams.
  • Great Leadership and organizational skills
  • Payroll designation obligatory
  • Expert knowledge of the payroll legislation in the US and/or relative experience abroad.
  • Analytical, able to identify, find solution and solve problems autonomously.
  • Has worked with and understand SOP/DTP (desktop procedure);
  • Has worked in a Global shared service environment in a large company.
  • Worked and owned activities in major project environment.

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903, and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
