POSITION SUMMARY

The Furnace Operator performs a range of manual operations related to Vacuum Braze and/or Heat Treat Furnace, under well-defined instructions and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures. Day Shift Position, with core hours of 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday in an environment with voluntary overtime.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews shop routings to confirm correct sequence of operation
  • Completes assigned tasks per the process specification and corresponding work instructions
  • Assures production is correct to corresponding drawing
  • Fixtures units and applies correct pressure per Process Specifications, loads grids, and positions thermocouples per work instruction
  • Demonstrates all safety policies and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required


Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Certifications Vocational training, apprenticeships or equivalent exprience in related field

Years Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience

Skills:

  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, read calipers and height gauges
  • Ability to read dials and printouts and manipulate input controls to achieve desired operating parameters
  • Able to operate a variety of hand tools and light machinery
  • Capable of performing basic mathematics
  • Able to ready and interpret company documents such as operating/manaufacturing instructions
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs with or without mechanical assistance

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. * 120.15 is required. U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Resident is required for most positions.
