Job Description Summary

Enterprise Community Loan Fund (ECLF) is a certified community development financial institution and a member of the Enterprise Family of Companies. Since its founding in 1982, Enterprise, our controlling entity, has raised and deployed more than $43.6B in equity, grants and loans to support low-income people and low-income communities including building or preserving nearly 585,000 affordable rental homes.

Proactive, results driven and experienced portfolio associate to support Loan Fund's lending activities. This role is responsible for tasks associated with loan closings, loan servicing and lending program support with a range of varied loans (predevelopment, acquisition, construction and permanent loan) and diverse projects (affordable housing, charter schools, health care, facilities and other community development projects). Proficiency with numbers, problem solving, and collaborative skills.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Loan Closing

  • Participate in the loan closing process as a member of the closing team and serve as point of contact to loan officers, borrowers and external partners as needed.
  • Collect, prepare and/or review loan documentation (letters, statements, notifications, etc.) prior to closing to ensure accurate implementation of key loan terms per the loan approval process.
  • Review, enter and maintain loan data in business systems as appropriate or necessary.
  • Review loans to determine appropriate insurance requirements and to ensure borrower policies are in compliance with the Loan Fund's guidelines.
  • Prepare and support management loan closing checklists and checklist items; work with Legal to ensure all loan closing conditions have been met and approved by appropriate/authorized parties.
  • Work with the finance and capital management teams to set-up new loans in business systems.
  • Coordinate funding of disbursements and payments required through-out and at loan closing.
  • Ensure all tasks required to finalize loan closings are complete including the management of retained documents, review of loan records for accuracy and preparation for post-closing responsibilities.

Loan Monitoring/Servicing

  • Conducts a review of all relevant documentation to gain a sufficient understanding of the loan/project in servicing portfolio.
  • Administers loan servicing activities in line with the needs of a loan/project to ensure procedures are appropriately and efficiently carried out. This includes, but is not limited to processing loan disbursements, loan modifications, borrower requests and internal business tasks.
  • Ensures any specific programmatic, project or loan structure requirements have been reviewed and addressed as part of the servicing and loan administration.
  • Ensures adherence to business guidelines for reviewing and processing loan disbursements and modifications, including requirements under loan documentation.
  • Coordinate with finance regarding payment and disbursement processing, invoicing and general queries for internal and external requests.
  • Manages the setup and monitoring of insurance requirements during the term of the loan, including requests to borrowers and/or insurance brokers.
  • Updates loan information to include file maintenance, lending databases, processing loans payoffs and archiving records.
  • Assists Lenders and Chief Credit Officer with processing loan modifications and/or any other loan activity as necessary.

Qualifications:

The Portfolio Associate may be required to assist with the administration of specific lending programs relevant to assigned portfolio, or general portfolio needs, as necessary which may include providing loan information, tracking, reporting, or updating data in lending systems.

  • Undergraduate degree or 2+ years of relevant experience in loan administration and loan monitoring/servicing.
  • Must be detailed oriented, proficient at working with and improving systems, and possess strong aptitude for numbers.
  • Working knowledge in at least one of the following areas: real estate and construction lending; affordable housing and community development; and corporate and real estate insurance.
  • Strong and effective communication, analytical, sound decision-making, organizational, follow-up, and customer service skills.
  • Solid MS Office and Outlook skills.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and/or Precision LM (LMS) system is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to meet stringent deadlines and time constraints in a busy department.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced department.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy and composure; flexible and able to adapt to a variety of situation.

The base salary for this role is $65,000 to $70,000, depending on level of skills and experience.

The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance.
