Description

Under general supervision, supervises the activities of department staff with the goal of maintaining objectives. Responsibilities include any of the following activities related to the receiving, storing, and/or shipping of materials or finished goods. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises the day to day activities of department requiring the ability to effectively communicate.
  • Coordinates with staff on work orders/jobs needed to be completed. Work with other departments to identify and report essential department specific shipping information and requests.
  • May assist in the development and implementation of department procedures and policies. Conducts new employee training and enforcement of departmental procedures.
  • Supervises the activities of department workforce. Performs personnel-related functions including, but not limited to, performance appraisals, approvals of timecards and time schedules.
  • Conduct audit to verify the consistency of the material handler's workmanship and accuracy of data collection.
  • Train Material Handlers with their assigned job functions.
  • Ensures security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review.
  • Ensures materials are received from proper vendors and that they are delivered to inventory.
  • Reviews receipt of all materials to ensure the quality of materials received is correct.
  • Maintains documentation to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities.
  • Conducts physical inventories and leads cycle counts.
Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or GED, Associate degree or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Information Technology Fluency
  • Preferred: 2-4 Years of Experience using Microsoft Office include Outlook
  • Minimum Requirement: General ability in the use of personal computing hardware and software to enter information, such as, pcs, weight, and tracking. General knowledge of processes and tools to maintain, archive, and retrieve digital files. General knowledge of receiving and sending emails
  • Materials Handling
  • Preferred: 3-5 years of Experience managing inventory and ability to perform regular inventory cycle counts.
  • Minimum Requirement: Possesses a general understanding of receiving orders and signing for delivery.
  • One -Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong Customer Relations skills.
