About the RoleAre you looking for a challenging opportunity that leverages your advanced technical expertise? Come join our team! As an Engineering Technician III, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. You'll be responsible for constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems. You'll ensure our systems and components meet established specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a related field of study and at least 4 years of relevant experience

  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience

  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics and manuals

  • Ability to work with standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of dynamic control system operation / configuration to meet product test specifications through the use of vibration exciters, accelerometers, strain gages, force transducers, data acquisition systems, & signal conditioning

  • Candidate will generate computer generated reports and data outputs as directed. Must be proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel.

  • Candidate must have mechanical aptitude with shaker physical test setups using fasteners, hand tools, glues & tapes and be familiar with Shaker/hardware safety systems & system limitations

  • Ability To Hold DOT Certification For Motor Vehicle Operation

  • On The Job Bridge / Gantry Crane Experience

  • Real World Rigging Practice Competencies

  • Fork / Scissor Lift Operational Expertise

  • SRS Pyroshock Simulation & Data Acquisition / Reporting Experience

  • Familiarity with Force Test Stand Control & Fixture Use

  • Experience With Thermal Vacuum System Theory & Operation

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

  • Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors

  • Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes

  • Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.


Working Conditions:

  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)

  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials

  • Occasionally exposed to loud noises

  • Safety Sensitive Position:

  • Responsible for the safety and security of people or property

  • Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials

  • Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles

  • Performs Aviation related duties

  • Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:$32.25 - $44.35
