Product Safety Manager

Location: Northbrook, IL

Direct Hire

Pay: $98K to $130K plus bonus

The Product Safety Manager will be responsible for management of the hazard communication program and team, product safety team, and the support and collaboration of these functions across commercial and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of hazard communication and product safety teams (3 direct reports).
  • Oversight of corporate hazard communication system and all related programs, like dangerous goods classification, Proposition 65, and other ingredient disclosure programs.
  • Oversight of product safety and toxicological program to support commercial products as well as innovation efforts through our research and commercial development teams.
  • Lead project to fully implement corporate safety data sheet and label system into all countries where products are manufactured and/or sold.
  • Track country-level hazard communication and product safety requirements. Assess impact of change and communicate internally to impacted stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Must have 3 - 7 years of experience in hazard communication regulations and standards.
  • Must have experience utilizing SAP EHS for the generation of safety data sheets and labels.
  • Awareness of toxicological endpoints and the application of those endpoints for product safety classifications.
  • Ability to interact effectively with business leaders, government agencies and trade associations.
  • Strong competency in project management, negotiation, and communication. Proactive mindset in identification and implementation of novel strategies for product stewardship.
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Bachelor/M.S. of Science in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or other related science
