Job Summary

UCSF Primary Care at Bayfront seeks a full- time Nurse Practitioner with the ability to support and provide care of adult patients in an Ambulatory Clinical Setting. The NP will have a critical role in the outpatient setting, with both team member and individual duties. These responsibilities will include triage, in-basket management, medication and diagnostic ordering, interpretation of test, and responding to messages and phone calls. Other responsibilities also include patient examination and assessment, diagnosis, and planning; treatment implementation, coordination, and continuity; performance of specific procedures, development of practice protocols and evaluation of quality care, education of patients, patients, families, and other health care practitioners.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) to two (2) years experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient Primary Care or Family Medicine setting.
• Provide pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient care as part of their clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience with clinical documentation in an electronic health record.
• Possesses the skills, knowledge, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the assigned position.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) plus years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a Primary Care Setting.
• Experience using APeX/EPIC

License/Certification

• California Driver's license (CDL) if required for position
• Hold current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work.

• Hold a current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California.
• Completion of a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.
• Hold an active and transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
• Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
• Hold current AHA BLS
• State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice
• Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
