Summary of Position
Plymouth State University's Athletic Department seeks candidates who are capable of supporting the athletic department as well as the Physical Education Center and all of the employees that work in athletics and all users of the PE Center (both PSU employees as well as the community). Under general supervision and with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service, provide support in administrative matters for a unit by performing varied responsible office support functions, including organizing, communicating and coordinating information, using independent judgment, problem solving skills, and initiative to determine approach or action to take in non-routine situations. Interpret and adapt departmental guidelines, including policies and procedures. This is a 100% time benefited position working 37.5 hours per week.

  • High school graduation. Five years of related office experience or five years of related specialized training or related higher education or any combination of related office experience and related higher education equal to five years.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures and use of electronic equipment.
  • Supervisory skills, including the ability to instruct and direct the work of students.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Keyboarding and computer skills such as word processing, e-mail, Internet, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, database management and software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public, and to provide consistent and positive customer service.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping methods.

  • Work experience in college/university environment.
  • Office management experience.
  • Proven supervisory experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Proficient in an MS Windows environment using the MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
  • Experience maintaining or creating web pages.
  • Experience with Banner Finance System, for accounting/financial management.

  • Running of budget reports for entire department.
  • Meal Advances for 25 varsity programs
  • P-Cards -management and point person
  • Gas Cards - Management and point person
