WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: The Fors Marsh Program Evaluation and Policy Analysis (PEPA) practice is actively recruiting a skilled Managing Researcher to lead research and evaluation initiatives aimed at providing evidence-based insights into programs and policies crucial for regulating and overseeing different facets of the U.S. economy, financial systems, and workforce. This role plays a vital part in enhancing economic opportunity and social mobility for individuals. The selected candidate will be responsible for directing the design and implementation of mixed-methods evaluation tasks, collaborating closely with research teams, overseeing data collection, management, and analysis processes, synthesizing and presenting findings, spearheading business development endeavors, and establishing strong relationships with federal clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Using mixed-method research and evaluation approaches to provide federal clients with evidence that informs decisions about public assistance programs, policy development, organizational operations, etc.
  • Directing projects including the management of other staff, timelines, and quality of deliverables.
  • Preparing research reports, presentation decks, and other project deliverables summarizing research methods, findings, and implications.
  • Providing federal client account management to understand needs, manage expectations, and build long-term relationships.
  • Managing and conducting quality control to ensure the accuracy of technical reports and other products.
  • Developing proposals and leading business development efforts.
  • Balancing roles and responsibilities across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Working as part of a team on a day-to-day basis in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics, or other social science field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience leading research and evaluations for clients, including those in the federal government.
  • Experienced project manager with a demonstrated track record of successfully leading intricate and diverse research endeavors, particularly focusing on survey methodologies. Skilled in fostering collaboration and achieving tangible outcomes.
  • Adept at leading teams in the application of quantitative and qualitative methodologies and expertise in utilizing survey software and tools.
  • Proven track record of leading successful business development efforts, including drafting proposals.
  • Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex research findings clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary research teams in all aspects of the evaluation project life cycle, including:
    • Developing evaluation design and analysis plans.
    • Collecting quantitative and qualitative data from both primary and secondary sources, and cleaning, manipulating, and merging that data for analysis.
    • Conducting data analysis to generate findings that answer research questions.
    • Reporting and presenting findings to the client.
  • Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Social Security Administration (SSA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is strongly preferred.
  • Ph.D. in Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics, or other social science field.

Salary: $120,000-$135,000

Location: Remote, United States Residents only
