Special Projects Assistant

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) is seeking a Special Projects Assistants for the Summer Food Program provided through the Maternal and Child Health division.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare food and serve meals to children
  • Pick up and deliver food orders
  • Enter meal service data into the computer system
  • Conduct community outreach and maintain social media.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED equivalent, or be able to obtain an employment recommendation from their current high school.
  • Undergraduate students majoring in a related field or those with food service experience are preferred.
  • Candidates possessing a food handler's certificate or food service sanitation manager certification are also preferred.
  • A valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for long periods of time, and be physically active throughout the day.

This position is seasonal lasting approximately three (3) months, 20-35 hours per week. Compensation for this position is $16.07 per hour.
