About The Role

The Commercial Ag Lender is responsible for existing portfolios that are delegated and bringing in new loan and deposit customers to the Bank by providing effective sales and services that align with the overall mission and credit culture of the bank. Must have the ability to establish and promote business development efforts throughout the bank's market which lead to relationship and lending opportunities. Must be knowledgeable about the market and have the ability to analyze financial statements ranging from a variety of Business and Industry types with the experience to provide banking solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Commercial Agriculture Lender

  • Obtain loan applications, interview clients, analyze financial and related data, determine appropriate pricing and loan structure and make appropriate loan decisions (within lending limitations) or submit recommendations to loan committee.
  • Reports to Branch President, works with Chief Credit Officer on commercial/ag credits.
  • Ensure loan documentation is complete and correct prior to closing. Review all credit reports, financial statements, tax returns, title insurance commitments and appraisals.
  • Monitor loan delinquency and proactively identify and collect problem credits, with delinquencies held under 1%.
  • Keep current on loan programs and lending regulations as well as all compliance and bank policies.
  • Identify and develop profitable relationships with potential new customers.
  • Recognize sales opportunities promoting all bank products and services referring customers to appropriate department or person.
  • Maintain customer calling schedule with professionalism and concern in dealing with the public as well as promoting products and programs to best meet the needs of customers and bank goals.
  • Participates in community organizations and events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service as defined by First State Bank of Wyoming.
  • Manage an existing loan portfolio and grow your own portfolio.
  • Process consumer applications and loans as needed.
  • Perform Collateral Inspections as required.
  • Complete OnCourse assignments by the due date.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job in order to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers.
  • Additional duties as requested or assigned.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • One year sales and customer service experience preferred
  • One year banking experience preferred
  • Previous lending experience and/or training preferred

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. and the ability to learn new systems/applications
  • Ability to work in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated sales and business development skills
  • Ability to fully understand, analyze and structure various types of commercial loan requests
  • Represent the bank in a positive manner at all times and network outside the bank
  • Knowledge of advanced banking products and terminology
  • Ability to maintain high volume of quality work, while ensuring highest confidentiality
  • Exercise good judgement when dispensing information to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneous in a fast-paced, diverse, and growth-oriented environment

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
