Our Plant Safety Representative III (Safety Rep) will be located at the University of Iowa Campus in Iowa City, IA.This role entails ensuring the utmost Occupational Health and Safety standards for all employees, customers, and visitors on campus. ENGIE's operations on campus primarily involve managing and sustaining utility plants, distribution networks, and overseeing energy improvement construction projects. The Safety Rep supports the implementation of ENGIE Standard and strategic initiatives, focusing on personnel safety training, monitoring, and auditing across University of Iowa (UI) utilities operations, facilities, and construction sites.
You will support corporate reporting and trend analysis by ensuring that UI reports all Health and Safety (HS) KPIs via the tools provided, reviewing and revising procedures at the direction of the HS Senior Advisor, and answering any compliance questions raised by plant and corporate staff.You will also support the HS Senior Advisor in the development of new and revised existing fleet-wide HS compliance policies, programs, processes and procedures (4Ps), including interfacing with ENGIE wide HSE teams.
Everyday you will be ENGIE's safety champion on the University of Iowa campus.You will walk sites and talk to employees and sub-contractors, and coordinating with ENGIE Staff, vendors, and customers to ensure that all of our activities on campus are conducted in compliance with all company and governmental regulations.You will conduct regular training, supervision, audits, hazard assessments, mitigation planning, pre-job safety plans, incident investigations, root cause analyses and verifying proper reporting protocols have been fully implemented.The role also encompasses reviewing contractors' HS Execution Plans to ensure compliance with ENGIE Group Rules governing contract work and researching new or revised regulatory requirements to adjust programs and implement best practices. The Safety Rep modifies existing University of Iowa HS procedures to align with ENGIE HS procedures and develops and delivers training programs on mandated topics such as lockout-tagout, confined spaces, hazardous communication, and medical surveillance.

Compensation
Salary Range: $81,900 - $121,440 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
