The Long-Term Care Regional Account Manager (RAM) is responsible for fostering business relationships in the LTC market with large regional nursing home chains, assisted living chains, LTC Pharmacy Providers, Consultant Pharmacist companies, and key physician group. They will be responsible for a mix regional and national sales results through strategic planning, execution of customer engagement strategies, strong field collaboration and lateral leadership with multiple field and corporate matrix business partners. The LTC RAM will be responsible for cultivating relationships and influencing nursing home chains at the C- and D-suite level (e.g. CEO, COO, SVPs, Directors of Quality, Medical Directors, CFO, CMO) in order to penetrate customers with breadth and depth in a way that and leads to the identification and implementation of quality partnership initiatives like clinical protocol development and care pathway placement with approved, on-label information and resources related to PDP. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of previous success and LTC market assessment skills to identify opportunities and execute effectively. The candidate must communicate clearly and concisely, function as a market knowledge expert providing strategic partnership and lateral leadership with overlapping LTC region.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a mastery of products' clinical efficacy and a deep understanding of his or her market with special emphasis on product use in the elderly, specifically the long-term care setting. They should be able to articulate a strong value proposition for the customer; build excellent customer relationships with key customers and accounts.
  • Apply a range of deep account management, consultative skills, and clinical expertise to build support for NUPLAZID and enhance Acadia's status with customers as a trusted and valued partner .
  • Conduct local market business analysis with LTC Regional Sales Managers to uncover opportunities and prioritize activities to improve business results in their area of responsibility.
  • Manages and leads initiatives in key regional accounts that may span multiple regions and Areas including Regional LTCP Providers, Regional Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living chains, and Regional LTC Associations often in partnership with the LTC National Account Manager.
  • High level of collaboration with the LTC RSMs, Specialists, LTC NAM to ensure regional execution of pull through opportunities of key national opportunities.
  • Track, problem solve, and analyze product performance and communicate key account initiatives broadly with key partners.
  • Responsible for developing customer insights and identifying marketplace needs to maximize access opportunities, increase education opportunities to meet strategic objectives around PDP.
  • Creates and manages strategic business plans for each assigned account that reflects strong account knowledge and produces results such as enhanced resident access.
  • Leads broad-scope projects that impact company success.
  • Attends industry related meetings to enhance ACADIA's awareness of its products and services.
  • Provides dynamic, high-level in-service presentations to key account stakeholders at the regional or sub-national level.
  • Establishes work standards that are aligned with ACADIA's corporate culture, vision, and values.
  • Adheres to all compliance and promotional guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing, health care, life science, business administration or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible sales, account management and/or marketing experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry required, CNS experience strongly preferred. A minimum of 3 years' experience working in a Long-Term Care environment/channel and working in a field based position required. Experience interacting and developing relationships with KOL's, C-Suite executives is preferred. Requires excellent matrix management skills both internally and externally with client base. Must be in good standing with the FDA.

  • Broad business perspective, including a solid working knowledge of office operations and systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate department or area issues and results within and across functional areas and conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or timelines.
  • Ability to gain cooperation of others.
  • Ability to make and prioritize process and resource decisions based on overall team needs.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel by car or airplane independently up to 70% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues. This position is geographically based.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Salary Range
$139,000-$174,000 USD
