Job Description

Overview:

Revvity is in search of an Associate Chemist to join our dynamic team of scientists in Boston. In this role, you will be integral to the manufacturing process of synthetic chemical products essential for scientific research worldwide. As an Associate Chemist, you will play a vital role within our production team, contributing to the transfer, implementation, and ongoing production of our products in the laboratory setting. This full-time position, Monday through Friday, offers a flexible work schedule and is located at our Boston site. Join us in pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration and innovation.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Execute product manufacturing according to established procedures, record the data, interpret results and validate the quality of data.
  • Utilizing traditional synthetic chemical techniques, the scientist will execute routine chemical procedures involving solid state chemistry, wet chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, HPLC, analytical analysis for the production and analysis of chemical compounds.
  • Works safely and in compliance with all applicable federal and local regulations, follows written or electronic procedures and performs quality control.
  • Ensure products are manufactured on time, within specifications and at low cost.
  • Support general lab functions, maintenance of equipment, product quality, packaging, on-time delivery of products, ensure cleanliness of workplace and good general laboratory techniques.
  • May participate in production procedures revision and authorship.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints, familiar with CAPA systems, respond to inquiries from tech support, customer care and customers.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the manufacturing methods.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Degree in a Life Sciences field AND academic course work in a life sciences discipline or laboratory professional experience (intern/co-op/apprenticeship)
  • Associate's degree in Life Sciences AND a minimum of two years of laboratory professional experience (intern/co-op/apprenticeship)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good familiarity with synthetic chemical equipment and modern analytical tools such as HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis or similarly related equipment.
  • Ability to interpret data from biochemical, radiological and chemical assays, with an understanding of standard statistical tools.
  • Knowledge of organizational principles, chemical processes, inventory control systems, 5S, and lean manufacturing.
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with prior experience in SAP or similar ERP systems.
