Revvity has a rewarding and exciting opportunity for an Associate Scientist for our Synthetic Manufacturing laboratory. The Associate Scientist position will perform primary tasks in an ISO 9001:2015 laboratory in Lafayette, CO. Key responsibilities for this position include a wide array of duties related to the manufacturing, processing, and packaging of RNA and DNA oligonucleotides. This includes synthesis, cleaving, quality and quantity determination, purification, inventory control, and order packaging. The position will require the ability to learn and to troubleshoot various aspects of manufacturing chemistry in multiple laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture oligonucleotides for our customers using established protocols.
  • Process and purify customer samples using HPLC and Gel Electrophoresis.
  • Conduct quality control testing using HPLC, LCMS and UV-VIS spectroscopy.
  • Operate liquid handling robotics and automated sample management equipment.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete final packaging of customer samples, maintain stocks of catalog product, and create larger library collections.
  • Prioritize workload to meet customer need and new product launches.
  • Cross-train to ensure the capability to complete the primary tasks in each Manufacturing laboratory, including, but not limited to, Oligonucleotide Synthesis, Quality Control, Post Synthetic Process, and Packaging.
  • Accurately and effectively complete basic equipment tasks including, but not limited to, reagent filling, liquid-handling robot setup, operation, and cleanup, and handling of customer samples for final packaging.
  • Collect requested data and communicates them to Supervisor.
  • Maintain proper lab maintenance and upkeep per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and 5S standards.
  • Comply with all EH&S regulations and policies.
  • Fulfill other trainings, tasks and responsibilities as assigned and/or required.
  • Must be willing to work in a lab with hazardous chemicals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences
  • 0-3 years of laboratory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with laboratory standard concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to learn, troubleshoot, and operate specialized laboratory equipment, computers, and instrumentation software
  • Advanced analytical skills using Microsoft Excel, with proficient data entry and typing skills
  • Professional and clear communication skills, both written and verbal, teamwork is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the talent for teamwork
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Requirements & Expectations:

  • Ability to regularly move items weighing 30-60 pounds, with or without accommodation
  • Saturday 2hr shift rotation 2-3 times/year

Compensation Range:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $53,500-58,000. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
