This position is part of the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design and maintain CAD models of mechanical and mechatronics components and systems, including tools, fixtures, jigs, structures, and focusing on rapid prototyping and production using Creo & Windchill.

• Generate detailed drawings from CAD models and incorporate annotations for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) as per ASME Y14.5.

• Develop comprehensive piping and routing drawings for fluid systems.

• Ensure the delivery of clean geometry models suitable for finite element analysis.

• Apply drawing standards consistent with company, program, and industry requirements.

• Conduct thorough model and drawing checks during release reviews to uphold design integrity.

• Collaborate with external design and fabrication partners throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring ground support equipment (GSE) meets specified requirements.

• Engage in technical reviews throughout all stages of the product development lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Industrial Design, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Product Design, Tooling Design, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in a design role, preferably within aerospace, automotive, or launch vehicle sectors.

• Proficiency in Creo & Windchill and a strong understanding of standard fits, tolerances, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).

• Demonstrated capability in drawing generation, checking, and the release process.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative work environment

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in GSE or tooling within the aerospace industry.

• Hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, or maintenance operations.

• Familiarity with Windchill for revision control and data configuration.

• Knowledge in selecting standard aerospace hardware and in collaborating with cross-functional teams on material and manufacturing process selection.

Compensation range for on site CA applicants is $115,935 - $162,309
