Summary: As an FSQA (Food Safety and Quality Assurance) Technician, your main role is to ensure the adherence to food safety and quality standards on the seafood production floor. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the production area, as well as conducting inspections and tests to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will be involved in implementing and enforcing food safety protocols, conducting training for employees, and documenting all quality control activities. Your attention to detail and commitment to upholding food safety standards are essential in ensuring the production of safe and high-quality seafood products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the seafood processing area, equipment, and utensils are clean and sanitized according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts regular inspections of the seafood production floor to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Monitors and evaluate the handling, processing, and packaging of seafood to identify any potential risks or deviations from quality standards. This includes verifying proper temperature control, sanitation practices, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitors and record temperatures of seafood storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers to ensure proper temperature control and prevent spoilage.
  • Follows proper handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain the integrity of seafood products.
  • Adheres to food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies to ensure compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintains accurate records of all quality control activities, including test results, inspections, corrective actions, and any other relevant documentation required for regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in training programs related to food safety and quality assurance.
  • Identifies and address any non-compliance issues or deviations from quality standards. Implement corrective actions, such as retraining employees or adjusting processes.
  • Works closely with production floor staff, supervisors, and other cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues, provide guidance on best practices, and ensure effective communication regarding food safety and quality concerns.
  • Enters data from inspections, tests, and audits into designated databases or software systems accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Record details of collected samples, including product type, batch numbers, date, and location, to maintain traceability and facilitate tracking.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous FSQA or food production experience is a plus, but not required.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $20.41to $28.97.
