POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6AM - 2:30PM) Machinist II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, CNC, and adjustments as necessary.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $23/hr - $25/hr plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Follow operation instructions; operate machine according to standard operating instructions
  • Monitor, maintain, weigh, and safely add chemicals as required
  • Monitor the quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP).
  • Perform and operate simple to complex setups on one or several machines in assigned area
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot machine and tooling problems
  • Train and develop entry level machinists.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic CNC/Robotics setup skills are required
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in drilling, reaming, milling, and threading
  • 1 to 2 years' experience in blueprint reading
  • Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension and Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance (GD&T).
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as; micrometers, calibers, height gauges, rulers, and tape measures

  • SAP or Enterprise system knowledge
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and similar quality control concepts
  • Computer proficiency and lean skills
  • Documented manufacturing education/training
