Job Description
Duration: 12 + Months
Shift Timing: Standard Hours, Morning Shift

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Support third party coordination projects happening in and around SEPTA's Right of Way (ROW) and property.
  • Provide office and field engineering support to SEPTA Right of Entry (ROE) projects, and monitor construction activities of ROE projects to conform to approved drawings and site-specific work plans.
  • Conduct the job safety briefing for assigned ROE projects and monitor the construction activities for conformance to railroad or transit worker safety regulations, whichever is applicable.
  • Coordinate scheduled outages with SEPTA operations and provide qualified protection personnel to 3rd party contractors on ROE projects.
  • Maintain and submit daily inspection reports, which shall include sufficient accuracy, detail, photographs, and time references for the basis of claims avoidance or defense.
  • Provide weekly summary reports, which shall include a summary of work completed in the previous week, outstanding or open issues, and anticipated project progress for the week ahead.
  • Assist in the clarification and/or interpretation of approved documents and keep SEPTA informed of resolutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the SEPTA Project Manager.
Required Education:
  • B.S. Degree in engineering or Associate degree in engineering or construction, project management experience for at least three years of progressively responsible experience in office and field engineering, project management, construction required, and inspection.
Required Experience:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Excellent reading and understanding of plans and drawings.
  • Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Must be in on-call rotation to respond to emergencies outside normal duty hours.
  • Must be able to report to different construction sites/job locations.
Certification Requirement:
  • Prior to starting the assignment, the candidate must have completed SEPTA Railroad and Transit Roadway Worker Safety Training and issued an ID card.
