How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The HSES team is a global and international team including 30 teammates based in the different production sites of ALAM and at the headquarter based in Branchburg. The working language between us is the English/American language.
In Fremont, you will work closely with the Site HSES manager, experienced in the HSES domains but still quite new in the company as she joined us last January. The Fremont site employs more than 100 persons, for operation but for R&D too. Thus, joining us in Fremont is also the opportunity to connect with a lot of different activities.
Your direct report is the ER manager, based in Florida, but periodically in California and in the other areas where ALAM has production sites, to perform the training courses and organize the Emergency Response with the HSES managers and Site leaders.

The position:

This role has the responsibility to support the organization and the Emergency Response manager for implementing the ER roadmap of our strategic plan Fix & Transform. This role, based in our Fremont site (California) will organize and structure all the ER training for the site and the revision of the local Emergency Response Preparedness plan.

The role will also design the revised version of the Emergency Response Preparedness plan template for all the ALAM sites and the overall Emergency Response organization at ALAM level. The project manager will support the ER manager for designing the related ER methods and training related to these overall organizations. Additionally, the project manager will help develop new emergency response techniques and test improvements on existing methods. The project manager will also work with the Technology department to propose an organization in order to embed the Emergency Response review within the early stage of the product and installation development process.

This position will also support the local Fremont HSES manager for other HSES topics for 20 to 30% of the time.

Expected deliverable along the mission:

  • after 6 months:

    • Site Emergency Response Preparedness plan template is ready and the related training materials have been designed;

    • Site Emergency Response Preparedness plan is reviewed for the Fremont site;

    • ALAM Emergency Response Preparedness plan is ready, compliant with the Bluebook expectations;

    • Strategy for the management of product maximum quantity on site thresholds.

  • after 18 months:

    • ALAM Emergency Response Preparedness plan is operational, all managers have been trained accordingly, the related training is integrated in the training tracker for the management of refreshers;

    • Fremont site Emergency Response plan and the training of all the concerned employees are up-to-date;

    • Product maximum quantity on site thresholds management in place.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Safety, chemistry, chemical process, process safety;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Train the trainers qualification;

  • Knowledge / experience in Emergency Response (firefighter...).

Candidate Profile

  • Passion for HSES as demonstrated by a strong commitment;

  • Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency and a strong writing ability;

  • Good knowledge with management systems structure and operation.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Google tools (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, Drive);

  • Strong organizational skills

  • 1-2 years of expected work experience

  • English is mandatory
