Job Summary

The Network Engineer applies complex design principles and methodology to ensure cost effective and optimal use of resources and technology without jeopardizing network integrity.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The Rawlings Company will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Hours: Day shift, 40-hour work weeks. Flexible schedule options available between 7am - 7pm after six months of employment.

Setting: Professional office environment. (Local hybrid schedule).

Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining network implementations for multi-site enterprise
  • Maintaining network and security standards, documentation, processes, and procedures
  • Serving as a technical mentor to others and guide less experienced engineers and technicians in resolving complex problems
  • Engaging IT teams to analyze security risks, proposing mitigation and improvement projects
  • Analyzing and maintaining capacity and performance requirements, monitoring systems and platforms for availability and performance
  • Identifying, testing, and installing patches and upgrades for network and security appliances
  • Occasional after hours support for critical situations will be required

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, business, engineering, mathematics, or closely related field, or significant equivalent experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in network engineering, architecture or systems engineering
  • Experience working with designing redundant, self-healing network solutions
  • Expert understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP, access-control lists, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
  • Must have advanced competency in routing, switching, firewall, and VPNs on Cisco, Arista, and PaloAlto equipment. Cisco Certified Network Professional in routing and switching is preferred. Any data security or VOIP solutions and troubleshooting training is a plus
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, and Security appliances
  • Working knowledge of the following Microsoft Technologies: Active Directory, Server Operating Systems, and Server Virtualization technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of HIPAA privacy/security standards, general security audit expectations, and knowledge of how security controls should be implemented and supported within a growing company
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a detail-oriented focus, self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Passionate about providing solutions that improve the business with a strong focus in customer service
  • Ability to prioritize and take ownership of multiple tasks
