Ketjen Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle Corporation, is currently seeking a FST Lab Technician to work at our Bayport Site (Pasadena, TX Office).

Job/Position Responsibilities:

  • FST Test Unit.
  • Operating unit in accordance with lab procedures.
  • Unit maintenance and documentation of repairs.
  • Unit operational control validation in accordance with ISO control.
  • Manage all aspects of FST unit operations including troubleshooting. Train on all other supportive operational equipment in lab.
  • Update and evaluate unit performance tracking data charts.
  • Provide detailed reports on data generated in support of research projects. Maintain throughput pace of scheduled testing priorities.
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping of lab workspace.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Participate in sample retain effort.

Accountabilities

  • Procedures and other SOPs are closely followed, and deviations are explained and documented. Operations databases are kept up to date.
  • Communication is effective and timely with supervisor and all other technicians.
  • Work is carried out with no safety incidents, and potential safety issues are proactively resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to rapidly changing priorities with good attitude.
  • Work is scheduled and carried out according to defined priorities to maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

  • AS / BS degree (experience in a lab environment is preferred).
  • Multi-tasking experience with self-driven initiative.
  • Good verbal communication skills. Works well in team environment.
  • Solid computer spreadsheet, math and database skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude. GC operation (Refinery Gas Analyzer) knowledge is a must.
