Why do we need you ?

The Circular Economy Business Analyst will support initiatives throughout Saint-Gobain North America (SGNA) in pursuit of Saint-Gobain's ESG goals with a distinct focus on Circular Economy. Within the overarching ESG goals, the Circular Economy goals include reduction of production waste, avoidance of virgin raw materials, reduction of Scope 3 emissions, and recyclable packaging use. To accomplish these goals, this position will focus in two areas [1] support SGNA Business Unit teams (BUs) on their circularity journeys [2] conduct business development to develop new partners for circularity. To accomplish these, this person will work within teams from all parts of the organization and strive for alignment to launch circularity initiatives. All of which is intended to add value to SG-NA businesses while promoting SG products and policies to reduce and conserve energy, water, waste, materials, and carbon emissions through transparency along with increased use of recycled and circular raw materials and where improvements are needed. This includes:

  • Identify new business opportunities - with specific focus on recycling and circularity - in the building products and adjacent industries
  • Build rigorous business cases comprising of financial, environmental, strategic, competitive landscape elements - based on qualitative and quantitative data - by aligning SG BU circularity needs with opportunities
  • Maintain vibrant inventory of market research - including circular economy trends of customers/suppliers/competition, recycling and circularity enabling technologies, industry practices, LEED practices - in the building products and adjacent industries
  • Support BU Circularity teams on new & existing circularity projects; support reporting of circularity, recycled content, embodied carbon, and other product sustainability attributes
  • Develop and automate tools - currently used manually - to enable data-informed decision making for BU Circularity teams with a distinct focus on data visualization and ease-of-use
  • Collect, verify, and analyze data obtained from internal/external legitimate sources to better evaluate opportunities including due diligence for M&A, Licensing, CapEx, & other forms of investments & partnerships in Circularity

Completing additional ad hoc support and tasks such as annual surveys, drafting/reviewing internal or external communications, and presenting internally on SGNA activities

Is this job for you ?
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, or Business/Finance related field; Masters preferred
  • 3-5 years experience with financial analyses, market research, business development is required
  • Commitment to a sustainability/circular journey in support of company goals
  • Strong technical skills to gain the credibility of the internal customers, mostly sustainability, operations, and purchasing leads
  • Financial acumen to develop financial models, read and synthesize info from annual reports and market research
  • Strong reading, writing, presentation, and data organization and data manipulation skills
  • Collaborative team player and willingness to learn new skillsets
  • Very strong communicator as need to interact with stakeholders at various levels in organization
  • Experience providing recommendations to improve current processes
  • Strong analytical skills in order to understand complex situations to study and propose solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 15% to tradeshows, conferences, and partner sites as needed
