A360 Media is hiring a Full-Time Executive Editor, Commerce to join our growing Commerce division.

This key management position oversees the editorial aspects of our commerce group and manages a growing affiliate edit team, which operates across 5+ industry-leading entertainment and women's lifestyle publications - Including Us Weekly, Life & Style, In Touch Weekly, Woman's World, and First for Women.

As the highest-ranking editorial position in the Commerce Department, the Executive Editor will lead a team of 12+ affiliate junior editors, writers, producers, and part-timers. We are looking for a seasoned editorial leader eager to jump in quickly to enhance and optimize the affiliate content editorial direction and strategy using a data-driven approach aligned with our business goals.

In this pivotal role, the Executive Editor will organize and run a team growth structure for all in-house and freelance affiliate shopping content, including deal articles, sales roundups, celebrity product content, SEO review guides, and paid affiliate content on A360 Media digital brands. We're seeking an accomplished senior-level editor with a strong understanding of affiliate content strategy, consumer-intent SEO, and experience with the ins and outs of managing the editorial side of an affiliate division at a major media company.

The ideal candidate is a well-versed editorial lead with extensive writing, editing, and affiliate strategy experience - Prior experience in the affiliate editorial space in a senior editorial leadership or management role is a must. This role is designed for individuals with a successful track record of managing digital editorial teams, working collaboratively within a matrixed structure, and growing affiliate revenue for one or more digital publishers. We are looking for a candidate who brings enthusiasm, operates swiftly, embraces and encourages big, bold ideas, and is excited to grow with the company as they take A360's affiliate content to the next level.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Commerce and is based in New York City. Our downtown Manhattan NYC office operates on a hybrid schedule, which is 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead our affiliate content creation engine that feeds web, social, email, and syndication partners, enabling the department to meet and surpass quarterly and annual business goals.

  • Train and supervise the commerce editorial team to manage and execute affiliate editorial calendars for each publication

  • Oversee and delegate the publication of daily articles, updates, and projects, including assigning editors, managing team members who publish on evenings and weekends, and personally editing as needed.

  • Suggest improvements, make changes to, and enhance quality and originality, and continually drive team members to create ever-improving content

  • Develop new approaches to affiliate content that will enable A360 to differentiate ourselves in a crowded market, while evolving and growing the consumer audiences

  • Work with campaign managers to execute hybrid affiliate campaigns for clients

  • Ensure stories comply with SEO guidance, including regular updates with SEO update calendars

  • Monitor competitors and industry trends to provide the team with content suggestions as well as encourage the ideation of content that resonates with our audience and converts

  • Work closely with revenue/data insights to ensure editorial direction is aligned with business goals and KPIs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 7+ years' experience editing lifestyle content (fashion, beauty, home) for a major publisher, mainly and most recently in product and affiliate content preferred

  • Prior experience successfully managing and growing affiliate editorial teams

  • Digitally savvy with proficiency in WordPress, Photoshop, Chartbeat, Google Search Console, and stock photo sites

  • Firm grasp of AP Style: spelling, grammar, and punctuation

  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have strong communication and management skills

  • Familiarity with Amazon affiliates, affiliate marketing subnetwork platforms (Skimlinks, etc.), direct networks (Rakuten, CJ, Impact, etc.), CPC programs, linking tools, and commerce reporting platforms

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to operate quickly are required

  • Must be able to teach existing team members and train new ones to optimize department efficiency


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at various publishers in an affiliate role

  • Familiarity with SEO tools such as SEMRush, and Ahrefs

  • A keen eye for trends, both in terms of lifestyle/fashion, pop culture, and online consumer behavior

  • Familiarity with top entertainment and lifestyle sites and blogs, and with current celebrity news

  • A roster of PR contacts and advertiser/agency connections

  • Experience working with graphic designers and video teams is a plus

Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
