PURPOSE
The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing a manufacturing team of 20 mfg. technicians on a compressed work week schedule in a lab environment. Day-to-day activities include managing the priorities of the factory to meet OTD. The ideal candidate has very strong communication skills, an excellent collaborator/team builder with exceptional cross functional capabilities. The candidate for this role must be able to mentor and develop employees to lead within their area in a lean mfg environment. This person must be able to manage multiple tasks at once and be able to thrive in a fast paced, demanding high tech environment. Having the ability to drive actions to closure, anticipate events and engage at multiple levels across our organization is critical. A high level of focus on safety, customer commitment combined with a rigorous focus on quality is essential in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Oversees all production related activities on an assigned shift including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Probe card assembly, Test metrology, incoming and outgoing Quality Assurance processes.
*Coordinates, tracks, and prioritizes production in line with the company's quality systems, processes, and procedures to ensure production goals are attained.
*Collaborates with Human Resources regarding recruitment, staffing of non-exempt employees to ensure staffing targets are consistently met and performance management.
*Collaborates with engineering and maintenance groups regarding process and or equipment qualification, performance, and maintenance.
*Responsible to ensure all Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
*Knowledge and skills typically acquired by completing a BA or equivalent.
*Minimum of 3 years' experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT), semiconductor manufacturing or mechanical assemmbly Supervision or equivalent. Military technical/leadership experience accepted.
*Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices, and techniques
*Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, lean principles, and 6S
*Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations
*Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
*Demonstrated problem solving skills, able to analyze data, create various reports, and recommend corrective actions
*Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
*Flexible and able to prioritize
The pay range for this role in Carlsbad, CA. is between $76,300 and $100,170. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
