The Business Transformation team work with Function Heads and key stakeholders across the business to identify the most impactful business improvement opportunities and define, deliver and embed meaningful change.

This role is responsible for setting the direction of the team, overseeing the framework used to manage and deliver business change initiatives and delivering larger, cross-functional opportunities. The ideal candidate will have business change consulting experience, and have identified, defined and delivered business change in multiple areas of a business (from finance, to IT, and ideally engineering and manufacturing).

Position Responsibilities

Strategy:

  • Set the direction of First Mode's Business Transformation Team
  • Drive the definition and communication of First Mode's operating model, working with Sr Leadership to continually evolve it as the business evolves.
  • Work with Function Heads to identify opportunities for improvement across the business.

Business Change Project Oversight & Delivery:

  • Set the direction of First Mode's Business Transformation Team
  • Own and evolve the business change stage gates (a rightsized framework for managing business change projects at First Mode).
  • Oversee a portfolio of business change projects, some of which will be managed within the Business Transformation team, and some of which will be managed by the business (who will require support and guidance to prepare for each of the business change stage gates, and ensure projects are rolled out effectively to the business).
  • Help embed a culture of continuous improvement and understanding of fundamental business change concepts within First Mode.
  • Manage larger business change projects from inception to delivery and benefits realisation.

Internal Consulting, Mentorship & Guidance:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance, as needed, to the broader Business Transformation team

People Management:

  • Manage and mentor the Business Administrator, Business Transformation.
  • In this capacity, support the Business Administration objectives for the Business Operations team.

Other:

  • Provide support to the Head of Business Operations to deliver against objectives relating to overarching business performance.

  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies & tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading and delivering cross-functional business change projects, including systems implementations.
  • Experience writing process and system requirements
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional process definition, mapping and optimization workshops.
  • Experience setting and driving team strategy
  • Experience managing a team
  • Broad business knowledge, preferably in an engineering / manufacturing environment.
  • Preferably experience working for a mid-sized start-up (200-400 people).

Location

  • This position will be located at First Mode's headquarters in Seattle, WA and will be required to work in office >60% of working hours

Total Rewards

Base Salary Range: $129,600 - $171,000

Senior Business Analyst I: $129,600 - $155,000

Senior Business Analyst II: $143,100 - $171,000
