POSITION TITLE: Loan Paid Out Clerk
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Loan Paid Out Clerk is responsible for processing all paid commercial, real estate, and consumer loans and releasing collateral documents in accordance with company policies and federal requirements This position is also responsible for various other loan paid out related functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Responsible for the complete processing of paid out notes, which includes verification of paid note, obtaining release approval from the loan officer, release of appropriate collateral, and mailing released collateral documents to the customer
* Notifying insurance companies, tax offices and flood determination companies of paid loan status
* Ensuring overpayment and escrow refund checks are returned to borrower timely
* Prepare amortization schedules, loan payoff statements and scan requested collateral documents to branch personnel
* Obtain files from warehouse in storage; Box and forward paid loan files to warehouse when necessary
* Daily retrieval and distribution of mail from mailbox, post office, and bank and serve as processor for loan payments arriving via mail, wire and customer accounts
* From paid loan journals, record overpayments and short payments to ledger
* Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers via phone calls and monitoring group email inbox to ensure a high level of service
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Prior experience with paid loan processing or comparable real estate knowledge preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environment
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* High level of attention to detail
* Strong problem solving and organizational skills
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS:
* Standing, walking, bending and stooping required
* Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
* Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds
* May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically
* Limited travel required during and after business hours
