Job Description
SUMMARY:

This is an individual contributor role requiring lateral leadership skills. Primarily responsible for creating and executing plans to proactively drive profitability and motivate our sales teams to sell products or services within an assigned category or categories. Coordinate and partner with stakeholders, such as business development, marketing, product management, vendor partners, sales, customers, and others, to support the sales plan. Act as the primary subject matter expert and comprehensive resource for assigned products, services, or technologies related to a category or categories. Support vendors in bringing their product(s) to market. Responsibilities may extend to identifying, prospecting, qualifying, attracting, and onboarding potential new vendors and market expansion opportunities. Business Development, vendor relationship management, and driving growth for new vendors during their startup phase until they graduate to either a funded BDM or move to an unmanaged or fulfillment relationship. Expectations may move between proactively driving sales and a sales enablement focus depending on focus areas and business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and execute a growth plan for emerging areas within the confines of the company's overall objectives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external customers to identify and address their needs, delegating where necessary to other internal and external resources as appropriate.
  • Assist Exertis Almo's sales team in closing sales for assigned categories, including potential joint sales calls and customer site visits.
  • Manage new vendor relationship(s) and work with vendor(s) to grow business within Exertis Almo customer base. Partner with vendors, sales, business development, marketing, and product management to develop new programs, assist with marketing activities, and facilitate communications with Exertis Almo's sales team.
  • Identify potential new business opportunities and work with the manufacturer, Marketing, Sales, and other stakeholders to execute.
  • Generate industry visibility and establish a reputation of excellence for Exertis Almo within the category by providing industry insight and market information through various media and mediums.
  • Deliver value-creation activities by sharing expertise beyond assigned areas.
  • Align manufacturer and category strategy with overall ProAV business strategy. Establish sales objectives and project expected revenue and profit for target areas. Develop field sales action plans to ensure ongoing growth and profitability within the region.
  • Work with the Marketing Department to coordinate effective marketing initiatives to help drive sales.
  • Work with Product Management to help with inventory management across multiple lines within assigned categories.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending industry and vendor events and educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks; participate in professional societies.
  • Work with business development and vendors to ensure the inside sales and regional sales teams have product information and related materials to support new product launches.
  • Work efficiently and effectively with internal resources to appropriately support our customers .


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated expertise and business acumen within the assigned categories.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of industry sales and vendor partner experience
  • CTS or other relevant industry certifications
  • Proven ability to develop, train, and mentor salespeople.
  • Ability to integrate the needs of other teams/functions with processes and goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven track record of being customer-centric and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Firm grasp on metrics and report building
  • Ability to network within a customer organization to identify all key influencers and decision-makers.
  • Ability to manage long and short sales cycles.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous objectives while exceeding customer expectations with high responsiveness.
  • Sound analysis and critical decision-making skills
  • Minimum 25% travel required.
