Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To determine correct materials and procedures for product Fabrication and Assembly to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Generates Bills of Material (BOMis) for use in procuring required material for job.
  • Generates work orders for each drawing for fabrication or assembly of parts in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Identifies and generates requests for required tooling.
  • Supports the Contracts Department with customer directed changes.
  • Implements drawing changes as needed by re-ordering materials, changing shop work orders and methods.
  • Reviews drawings at the Preliminary Release phase.
  • Work with Engineering on specification call outs and changes.
  • Interprets drawings and assists in resolving customer and manufacturing questions.
  • Support field service trips for product servicing and warranty efforts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

Ability to interpret prints.

Technical writing ability.

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.

Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.

Ability to adhere to workplace rules.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

AA/AS degree in a technical field, manufacturing or industrial disciplines or equivalent experience.

4 to 8 years experience in manufacturing.

Knowledge of shop equipment.

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Office environment.

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).

Ability to lift iup to 40 pounds.
