Description

We are looking for a summer Mechanical Piping/Drafting intern who will work out of our Tulsa, OK office Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. Successful candidates will be enrolled in an accredited college, technical school, or university and will have completed their Junior year by this summer.

The Mechanical Piping Intern focus will be on the following activities:

  • Goals
    1. Understand how Explorer receives and processes Mechanical Piping data for internal use.
      1. Mechanical data - from EXPL Engineers, inspectors, ROW Techs, Outside Engineering vendors, or outside work
      2. 3D modeling Facilities
      3. Iso Metric drawings for all Facilities
      4. P&ID's and purpose of those at Explorer
      5. Original Historical drawings,
    2. Understand how our Dept. is used to support the company thru
      1. Mechanical plot plans and elevation drawings
      2. Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
      3. 3 modeling
      4. MOP-ISO drawings
      5. Working with Project Engineering
        1. Prelim planning & Piping layouts
        2. Prelim Bill of Materials for cost evaluation
  • Task to complete
    1. Update Process and Instrument Diagrams from Engineering Requests
    2. Create a 3D model utilizing CADworx Plant suite (will teach this software)
    3. Create a 2D plot plans from a 3D model.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful intern candidate will have:

  • completed their college Junior year by this summer
  • self-motivated
  • a high level of verbal and written communication skills
  • focus on time and resource management
  • solid computer skills in AutoCAD, Solid Works and/or Inventor
  • CADworx plant pro (Optional)
  • outstanding project execution capability
  • must have own housing accommodation in the Tulsa or surrounding area
