About This Position
ChristianaCare is searching for a Director of Perioperative / HVIS Supply Chain to be responsible for material management operations within the Perioperative and HVIS departments, ensuring a steady supply of necessary materials and equipment for surgeries and post-operative care. This position is responsible for driving and meeting key strategic objectives to ensure the ChristianaCare system and Supply Chain vision extends throughout Perioperative and HVIS and procedural Supply Chain operations. Strategic goals could include optimizing logistics, improving real-time inventory and procedural charge capture methods, developing and measuring against performance KPIs, and ensuring continuous improvement. The Director, Perioperative / HVIS will lead a team of supervisors and have overall responsibility for their assigned functions. This position plays a key role in fostering Supply Chain's customer service image within the facility and requires extensive collaboration with the Director of Hospital Operations. Principal duties and responsibilities:
Leads the Perioperative and HVIS Supply Chain Operations for all CCHS facilities, i.e., Christiana Care, Union, Wilmington, and other satellite hospitals
Coordinates and monitors all technical and administrative activities of Perioperative and HVIS Supply Chain Management, under the direction of the Sr. Director, Supply Chain Operations
Provides leadership as a contributing member of both the corporate Supply Chain and surgical leadership teams to create strategies based on Supply Chain vision and internal customer needs.
Provides leadership necessary to proactively identify, articulate and rectify problems, which may interfere with providing high quality and efficient patient care within the Perioperative and HVIS service line.
Provides leadership to consult with medical staff, nursing, Operating Room / Interventional Suite clinical engineering, and purchasing for all matters pertaining to the selection, processing and usage of items in the health system's surgical settings.
Manages the logistics for all (official stock & non-stock) items used by the surgical areas and specialties operating within the Operating Room / Interventional Suite. (This includes, but is not limited to, the updating and modifying of supply standards, assuring quality of incoming products, coordination and responsibility for inventory throughout the health system. This includes monitoring of staff re-ordering supplies and purchasing to resolve supply issues)
Works with Operating Room / Interventional Suite management, physicians, and value analysis (as necessary) to determine clinically acceptable substitutes.
