Job Description
Vaco San Antonio is seeking a motivated Financial Analyst to support our clients CEO/CFO in M&A activities, monthly analysis, and our Controller in financial statement analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in financial analysis, strong technical skills, and a proactive mindset.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a financial analyst program with formal training curriculum at a financial institution
  • Experience building complex three-statement financial models
  • Strong academic track record
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or similar field
  • Experience with Capital Markets and/or M&A transactions and coordinating due diligence workstreams
  • Experience with Investment Banking

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct analysis of company financial results and forward-looking projections to optimize financial performance and alignment with overall company goals
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reporting with appropriate commentary to provide actionable recommendations to upper management and external parties
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance budgeting and forecasting models while promoting best practices, techniques, controls, and documentation, with a focus on automation
  • Assist in the creation, tracking, and monitoring of key financial performance measures
  • Proactively create ad hoc analyses of financial and operating data and concisely communicate recommendations
  • Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and summarize findings
  • Support capital raise and M&A activities, including due diligence support, verifying historical financial results, and preparing financial pro-forma models
  • Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting

Our client operates at full capacity to manage the process of finding properties, working on existing properties and projects, and raising capital/funds. Their leadership team is highly experienced and transitioning to include new leaders earlier in their careers. This presents a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to shaping our future. We are a team of high performers and movers and shakers, so we need someone who can jump in and run with little guidance.

Our projects typically last between 3 months and 6 months, but often go longer than expected. As the project has a clear end date, Vaco will work to secure a reference from the client and begin marketing for our next engagement.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
