We are currently recruiting for anGlobal Risk Controls Managerposition for a stable, growing corporation in the Richmond, VA area. The company has excellent benefits and will report to the Controller. The role is a hybrid schedule.

The primary focus of this role will be to provide consultative and oversight services to management on the company's Global SOX 404 program and to continue to optimize our SOX framework. It is responsible for all aspects of the company's global compliance program, including planning, managing, implementing, and consolidating global results for documentation and testing activities related to compliance. This position is the primary interface with the company'sinternal and external auditors for the communication and coordination of testing. This position also manages the Company's Fleet operations, Certificates of Insurance, Blueprint platform and ensures compliance to the travel and entertainment policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain documentation of internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and external auditors to facilitate SOX audits and reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of new business initiatives on SOX compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on SOX requirements and compliance procedures.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of SOX controls to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SOX-related inquiries and issues, resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Monitor changes in SOX regulations and industry best practices, ensuring timely updates to internal processes and controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of SOX compliance activities.
  • Developing and managing junior team members
  • Oversee management of Fleet vehicle operations
  • Oversee management the Certificate of Insurance process.
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Special projects that may occur from time to time.
  • Participation in the Finance management team.
  • Function as a resource for personnel inside and outside the department for accounting and compliance issues.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement by utilizing VES tools and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • In-depth understanding of SOX regulations and requirements, including Sections 302 and 404.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex business processes and identify control gaps.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Meticulous with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality.
  • Highly organized, independent worker with focus on critical thinking, independent problem solving, customer service, and relationship building.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field.
  • CPA or CIA with Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or risk management roles and a working knowledge of IT security.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
